What are the Different Types of Chain Hoists?
Here is everything to know about hoists and trolleys, at A Plus Warehouse.
First off, what is a hoist? A hoist is a piece of equipment used to lift and move material. Typically, it is connected to the horizontal beam of your crane.
On the whiteboard behind me (point left and up) you will see one of our hoists.
When ordering, remember there are a few different options of hoists to choose from.
To start I will tell you about the powered chain hoist. This hoist is automatic with just the push of a button. No manual labor is needed to make this hoist work.
Speeds for the hoist can be single or dual-speed. Choose either single or three-phase power.
Our hand chain hoist is used manually. One may order this type of hoist for a lighter application.
For those super heavy-duty loads, we recommend the electric wire rope hoist. This hoist is the most durable and is built to hold over 5T which is past the capacity for standard electric chain hoists.
If your positioning is permanent then your hoist will be hooked on with a beam clamp.
When the positioning is not permanent that is when you need a trolly.
A trolley gives your hoist mobility so it does not need to be fixed in one position. A trolley will move your hoist horizontally on a beam.
