What are Metal Gauges?
Here is everything to know about gauges when you are buying your storage equipment such as cabinets and lockers.
First off gauge is a measure of steel thickness.
A lower gage means a thicker metal, the reverse of that is a larger gauge being a thinner metal.
A thicker metal, lower gauge, will have a higher capacity.
Gauge is not the only influence on capacity today however.
You can see thinner metals with higher capacities due to small changes such as bends or additional welds.
With that in mind you don’t always need to have the thicker metal for the higher capacity even though that is the standard idea.
Our innovation work can provide high capacities for those thinner metals, something that you weren’t always able to do.
